Flower Essences: Beyond Aromatherapy

What are Flower Essences?

A flower essence is energy in it's purest form and have been called liquid acupuncture..  The peak energy of a plant goes into making flowers to reproduce itself and it is this energy that is harnessed for essences.

This energy aligns and balances our four energetic fields, mental, spiritual, emotional and physical.  Because it is pure energy it does not interfere with any medications being taken and if the person using an essence, doesn't need it's energy (because they are already balanced in that field) then it will have no effect.

It is impossible to  overdose on essences, though people should be aware of how they are feeling if they are taking any medications. because, often, when the essences balance and improve the emotional, mental or spiritual fields the physical need for the medicine reduces.

However the essence will not affect how the medications work or the effect on the body.

Essences are made by gathering a certain amount of flowers (the plant tells me how many I need) and these flowers are floated in distilled water out in bright sunshine for 3 to 4 hours.

The flowers are then strained out of the water and this energized water (the sun releases the energy essence into the water) becomes a flower essence.

The essence can be used this way, with proper storage, for up to 2 years, but all makers either put brandy, organic apple cider vinegar or glycerin in the essence as a preservative so that now the essence is good for generations.

The amount of brandy or other preservative is minute in the final dosage bottle--you could take a whole bottle of essence at once and only get the alcohol content you would receive from eating a banana (because the starches in the banana can turn into alcohol in your bloodstream).

Most essences go through three phases--the mother tincture is made (equal parts brandy and flower essence), then a bottle, usually an ounce or two, is filled with distilled water and a few drops of the mother tincture and a few drops of brandy are added--this is the stock bottle.

Then another bottle is used (a half ounce to ounce bottle) which, in turn, is filled with water, a few drops from the stock bottle and a few drops brandy.  This is the dosage bottle, which is what people actually take.

Flowers have been used since time began for mental, emotional, spiritual and physical problems. Thousands of years ago flower essences were made by the Chinese, the people of India and the Aborigines of Australia.

In Europe in the 1500’s the master physician and herbalist Paracelsus made and used them, inventing our modern doctrine of signatures.

Dr. Edward Bach re-discovered flower essences in the 1930’s. He is considered the modern father of flower essences. In his practice he found 38 different flowers that he felt covered all aspects of human need.

He stopped his experimentation after those 38 flowers and declared that no more were ever needed, but of course, times changed and the world changed.

We now have things going on around us that were not happening back in the 30’s.

I believe the plants are opening up to us, making us more aware of their abilities to help mankind. The plant spirits, or Devas, speak to us on both a conscious and unconscious level.

George Washington Carver, the man who was born a slave,  who gave us hundreds of new uses for the peanut, made no secret of the fact that he communicated with plants and asked them for their help.

He said “All flowers talk to me, and so do hundreds of little living things in the woods. I learn what I know by watching and loving everything.”

He was in direct communication with the Devas of the plants he spoke with. Many people now are communicating with the Devas and there are probably thousands of flower essence makers over the world.

A maker does not need to be a big company, a maker can be someone that just makes and uses essences for his or her own family and friends.

Usually Flower Essences  work best and quickest on spiritual, mental and emotional problems, but some have been particularly impressive with physical problems.

A lot of our White Shemn essences are made specifically for physical problems, but most companies essences are for the emotional, mental or spiritual problems.
