Breaking the Silence: A member of Gary Young's Inner Circle Speaks Out
D. Gary, Don Gary, Gary D., Don, Don G. all names used by Gary Young over the years.
So who is the real Gary Young? Where did he grow up? What has his life been like? Was he ever really paralyzed? Where and how did he get his ND? People have been asking these questions for a long time, and the story put out by him and his Company, Young Living, does not even begin to tell the truth.
Don Gary Young was born in July 1949 in Salmon Idaho, the third of seven children. He grew up in the small rural community of Challis Idaho, on a ranch twelve miles from town.
The home had no electricity or indoor plumbing, and the only telephone was an old forest service telephone which connected them with several other neighbors along the road.
Donald and Dolly Young brought their children up to work hard, to live off the land and to Thank God for all they had.
This life style, while not easy, was in no way abusive, in fact it was considered by many people during the 1970's and 80's who gave up their mansions and city life to live as they did, to be the ideal.
Each season brought its own hard work; there was lambing season, sheep shearing, the cows had to be milked by hand. There were the hay and grain crops, the gardening of the family vegetables and then preserving them when harvested.
When the work was done the family was taught to play just as hard. The evenings were a time to gather together, they would play games or dance to music from thick 78 records played on an old victrola phonograph. Donald and Dolly Young taught the children to jitterbug and waltz, some nights they would sit around listening to Donald play the harmonica and sing to Dolly.
Every summer Donald would pack up the horses and his family for a two week vacation in the wilderness area of central Idaho. It was a land that time forgot, untouched by the modern civilization, a place that one could escape the world by letting nature relax you and fill your body with supreme energy.
